Server cannot switch single-user mode to multi-user mode. Only workstations can switch it. Server is on Windows 2012 server and using with Reckcon 2013. Does anyone have an idea to fix it?

    Hello Matthew,

Please advise of any error messages that appear when you attempt to switch to multi user mode so we can better assist with your enquiry

Have you been able to switch to multi user mode before on the server or is this a new install?

    Regards
    Dean

It comes with error 6123, 0. It's a new installation and it's able to switch to multi-user mode on workstation. Only on server and remote access unable to switch. Thanks. Matthew

Thanks Dean, I tried everything in solutions, but still not fixed. Server runs on Windows 2012 Server and workstations run on Windows 7 Pro. Even if workstations can switch multi-user mode, the server cannot switch it and it comes with 6123,0 error. I checked firewall setting and there is no antivirus installed. Can you suggest any other solutions for Windows 2012 Server? Thanks.

    Hello Matthew,

When you installed Reckon Accounts on the server, did you choose either Install Reckon Accounts with the company file server or Install the company file server only? If you havent done this, uninstall the software and reinstall with one of the two options i provided

Are there any other Reckon Accounts or QuickBooks installations on the server or workstations? If the answer is yes then uninstall any previous installs and then try again

On the workstations, is the QuickBooks Database Server manager installed, if the answer is yes then uninstall and reinstall with the option "Install Reckon Accounts only"

Make sure the firewall installed on the server and workstations are configured correctly by following the steps in the document that was provided relating to the files and ports so multi user mode can be used.

    Regards
    Dean
