For a employee final pay, does Reckon pick up the release date as the final pay, or do you have to submit a separate file and use the final pay event tick box?
We employee temp staff who are on our books but we don't know their final pay event as they may come and go during the year. What is the best way to handle this through STP?
Thanks

Thanks Rav, I have just sent an update and final event for two employees from last weeks pay run, hopefully this can be done at anytime throughout the year.

Hi Steph, I am in the same situation like you that have casual employees that we do not know when are their Final Pay Event as they may come and go during the year. I’m just wondering if I could just leave them without marking Final Pay Event or putting a termination date on their profile for the whole FY? Anyone has advice on this? @Rav, @John or @Simon, any advice? Thanks.

Hi Hawk, there does seem to be confusion as to how to handle this, the tax office did not have an answer either. Have you got any further info? Thanks

Hi Steph, I have no further info either but I will just leave them without marking Final Pay Event for the whole year.

    Hi guys

The latest advice we have had from the ATO around this is that if you know they will return in the financial year (so they are on again off again style casuals) you can leave them as not terminated as they are still somewhat attached to the business. I guess one question is, when they return do you ask them to do a new TFN declaration or just use the old one?
