Single Touch Payroll (STP) draft not showing override tax amount from the payrun

I did my first payrun for my employees but I did edit the tax withheld amount to a lesser value within the payrun. I checked all the figures were correct and clicked finish payrun. When I went to Single Touch Payroll at the payroll menu, I saw the draft copy had the tax amount for all the employees reverted back to the original amount, which were the figures calculated by the system. I checked the payrun file again and it was still showing the adjusted tax amounts. Why the tax amounts on the Single Touch Payroll draft wasn’t the same as the payrun file? This is my first payrun, so the YTD Gross and Tax amount in STP draft should be the same as my payrun. Could anyone please help me?

I think this is a software bug. The override tax amount does come up correctly in payment summary but not STP. Anyone experienced the same thing?

    Hi Hawk,
Apologies for the delay in getting back to you and thanks for raising this.

I've run this past our STP devs and they've confirmed that the Reckon One STP page is showing the tax amount not modified however when it goes through it uses the modified tax amount which you'll be able to confirm in GovConnect STP before submission.

This is a display issue in the STP area in Reckon One itself which the team are looking at as we speak and will fix.

Be assured, your data is still sent with the modified amounts.

I'll keep you posted once the team have rectified the display issue.

Hi Rav, thanks for getting back to me. Appreciate it! I have just tried checking the details at GovConnect STP, the modified tax amount wasn't show up there either.

Hmmm that sounds odd, the team checked it out and it was showing. Can you please share your Reckon One book with our STP dev so that we can take a closer look into what you're seeing. The user name to share the book with is chocolol2 Info on how to share your book here: https://youtu.be/tMAzO7CHrqw Also, can I grab the ABN for your STP entity please.

Can I confirm, have you sent any pay events to GovConnect STP?

I did previously but when I saw the tax amounts were incorrect, I used the new delete button to remove all the pay events.

Can you send one through to GovConnect STP now and leave it in draft status, our dev will investigate the disparity when its on that platform.

Also, can you advise which employee(s) is showing incorrectly.

I have send all pay events over to GovConnect STP now. All my employees tax are incorrect. Let’s take the last file on the GovConnect STP page for example, the file that is showing Total Gross $646.00 Totat Tax $68. For this employee when I clicked on the “detail” on the file, the Gross Pay ($4,111.66) is correct but PAYG ($1,180) is incorrect. It should be $518.54 (this YTD amount can be seen under the payrun file at Tax section)

I have just done a payrun now and I have had the same issue.  New employee started and only worked part of the pay period.  The default value of the PAYGW was nil but I increased it to the correct amount of $78.  The file that I lodged through GovConnect shows nil PAYGW for this employee.  The total PAYG on the report is the correct value, but PAYGW for this employee is incorrect.

Hi Kylie, you had the same issue as me. Let’s wait for Rav to keep us update on the situation if his STP dev team has figured out what’s wrong. I hope is not much longer as I haven’t submitted any STP to ATO yet.
