STP App Summary does not match pay runs

I have a few clients on the Reckon STP app and they have all had this problem. The pay run gross total is not adding up to the summary total in the employees section. Is there a reason for this? How can this be fixed?

on mine 1 employee's summary is short $1120 gross, $251 payg and $106.40 super. this is exact amount of this one weeks pay run, even though this has been submitted.

The Pay Summary section in the app currently keeps a record of all figures sent for payruns that have been created. This includes payruns that have been successful, returned an error or are in pending statuses.
However it does not keep a live track of what the ATO has on their end though. There is no service we can call upon to integrate with the actual ATO's systems that contain the figures. I know this area is causing a fair bit of confusion for our app users at the moment and its something I've already fed this back to the app developers so that it can be reworked to improve it.

To view figures that the ATO have received you will need to use the the ATO Business Portal if you have access to it. Employees can also review what has been reported for them via their MyGov accounts.

So Rav does this mean it doesn't really matter what the pay summary in the app says? as long as it is correct at the employee's MyGov account?

Hi Rav,
The issue is not with the ATO business portal. We are not referring to any pay runs that are pending, returned or error statuses.
The Pay summary in the individual Employee section is not the figure that has been submitted on the Pay runs.
How do we alter the Employees Pay summary to match the Pay run which has been submitted and accepted by the ATO?
I appreciate your time and hope this matter can be resolved so I can continue to use the Reckon app, which my accountant has advised not to use until this issue has been rectified.
Thank you

I was wondering does it really matter if the pay summary in the app isn't correct as mine is adding in error runs, but these have not gone through to the ATO. So the amount in my employees my gov is correct but not in the pay summary in the app.  Should I just not worry about trying to correct it as the ATO has the correct amount?

In my case, the incorrect amounts are already showing in my Mygov account.  Should I just send the EOFY off and then do an adjustment (keeping in mind that my salary shows over $60,000 more than I was actually paid)?  The tax and superannuation amounts are also more than double what was paid.  I have made only two adjustments throughout the year and can't see how this would be affecting such a discrepancy in the final amounts.

Hi Jenna, if you process an adjustment through the App for incorrect amount +/- the employee pay summary in App will be amended and the employee's MyGov total. Should then equal pay runs listed by ATO. Hope that helps. Deb

Hi Jenna & Deborah, This does not necessarily work.  The YTD figure in my app is not changing as pays are being processed.  ATO confirmed the YTD figure reported to them each week this FY has been the same, it is not updating as pays are being processed each week!

There are another two threads with the same problem :
https://community.reckon.com/reckon/topics/end-of-financial-year-report-does-not-reconcile-with-mont...

https://community.reckon.com/reckon/topics/stp-end-of-financial-report-does-not-reconcile-with-appro...

I'll cross post what I posted there :

I am also having this problem. I have triple checked all the amounts entered by employee/month with a colleague, and they are all correct.

I am running v1.13.0.

The EOFY totals calculated by the Reckon STP app do not add up to the monthly totals.

It appears that the July 2019 amounts are in some cases being added twice into the EOFY totals, as another commentor noted on the thread (above), but not in all cases : there are some random amounts being added to other totals. For example, one amount is $2021 too high, which is very suspicious - memory leak of the 20/21 financial year?

I am not prepared to put in an adjustment to make the Reckon EOFY totals correct, as it seems to me that doing so will make the monthly totals incorrect, and I'm not going to risk the ATO's wrath by doing so.

I have correctly entered all the employee/month totals, and it should not be beyond reasonable expectations that the software will accurately add up those numbers to calculate the correct EOFY totals.

I to have this problem and am not sure what to do!
I have checked both business portal and my fortnightly pays for the 2019/20 year and they are ALL correct however all my summaries are incorrect by random amounts.
The job keeper allowance payments do not show up in the business portal either but are correct in the summaries for those receiving it.
The ATO has said it needs to be fixed through Reckon.
I am reluctant to make adjustments to the pays as they are correct other than the totals in the summaries.

on the phone with the ATO at them moment. I cant fix mine, and help here is slow.
my issue
1. my EOFY summary was in the wrong year, 20/21, not 19/20.
2. i could delete that easily enough, so that now it is zero for 20/210
3. ATO online still shows the wrong amount.
4. i cannot make an adjustment because it says my 19/20 income is zero.
5. if a make a correct payment adjustment, wont that just add on to the amount at the ATO already.

Can you try an adjustment with $0 in all spots (gross, tax and super).  Wait a day or so and then check your income statement on MyGov to make sure that has gone to $0 also (crossing fingers it will).
Can you email me robyn@robynkelly.com.au before going further and once you know it's $0.
