STP end of financial report does not reconcile with approved pay run

Hi There,

I am trying to lodge the end of financial year (FY2020) STP Report. However, the gross pay amount for an employee is significantly overstated compares to the tally of individual pay run.  The individual pay run is reconciled with my  payroll data so its the STP report that is inaccurate.

I read in the past discussion about inaccurate employee STP pay summary. The advice from Reckon was that this is something that is okay as long that the data in ATO business portal is accurate.  So, how can we lodge an end of financial year STP report doesnt reconcile with the ATO data+individual STP pay run ?

Can anybody know how to fix this Reckon STP EOFY report?

Much Appreciated,
AG

Hi AG,
First thing, please ensure you have updated to v1.12.9 of the STP app.
If the figures for an employee are inaccurate when you are looking at the End of Financial Year Report in the STP app then you need to need to create an adjustment to amend these prior to sending through the EOFY finalisation.

The figures that are presented to you in the EOFY report in the app will be overwrite all previous data & balances once sent & accepted.

How do you enter a negative $ amount when adjusting? I can't enter " - " before the amount

Yes Rav, how do you put in a negative.

I have just got off the phone with the ATO and their recommendation is that you fix the software.

I note you have closed another thread on this same issue.

https://community.reckon.com/reckon/topics/we-are-trying-to-submit-end-of-year-report-the-totals-for-gross-and-tax-withheld-do-not-match-actual

Is this your way of ignoring the problem

The ATO will not accept a paper financial statement and your software is adding in a nominal amount that cannot be removed.

It is called "+ Initial YTD Gross ..." with items such as Pay, Withheld, Super, Allowances & Deductions in each category.

Why or what is this, as this is the error that I believe everyone is getting.

Can it be removed, if so how.

How do you put in a negative adjustment?????????

Grant,
Let me try and break this down simply.

Firstly, in no way am I ignoring anything, that is quite evident with the responses I've made all over the forum in regard to topics with the STP app which you can see for yourself.

To answer your question, the 'initial YTD' that appears in the breakdown refers to when the employee was first was setup in the app.
When you create a new employee, the app asks you if they have already been paid so far this year and if yes, then you enter whatever YTD balance the employee has already been paid up to that point.
If there's a balance appearing in that section then you would have entered this back at that time.

To enter a negative number in your update event, its as simple as entering a - symbol in the relevant field. If you're using an older phone or a keypad that doesn't show the - symbol then I'd recommend you follow the steps listed in this help guide -
HELP GUIDE: How do I enter a negative balance in the STP app?

Thanks Rav, I think I understand, hopefully the wrath of the ATO does not come down on me.

Well on that note, you've mentioned that you've had a chat with the ATO today and they've made some specific recommendations to you around the software and internal investigations etc.

Our team would like to follow up on this. We've been in frequent conversation with the ATO around our EOFY process with the STP and would like to follow up these recommendations you've been advised. If you can advise who you spoke to at the ATO along with the date/time of your call that would be appreciated as ideally we want to ensure both we and the ATO are on the same page in terms of expectations etc.
You don't have to post it here, you can email the details to me directly at community@reckon.com

Look forward to hearing from you.

Thanks

I am also having this problem. I have triple checked all the amounts entered by employee/month with a colleague, and they are all correct.

I am running v1.13.0.

The EOFY totals calculated by the Reckon STP app do not add up to the monthly totals.

It appears that the July 2019 amounts are in some cases being added twice into the EOFY totals, as another commentor noted on the thread below, but not in all cases : there are some random amounts being added to other totals. For example, one amount is $2021 too high, which is very suspicious - memory leak of the 20/21 financial year?

https://community.reckon.com/reckon/topics/end-of-financial-year-report-does-not-reconcile-with-mont...

I am not prepared to put in an adjustment to make the Reckon EOFY totals correct, as it seems to me that doing so will make the monthly totals incorrect, and I'm not going to risk the ATO's wrath by doing so.

I have correctly entered all the employee/month totals, and it should not be beyond reasonable expectations that the software will accurately add up those numbers to calculate the correct EOFY totals.

Why the hell are you spamming every single topic with this shit?
People need help with this including me, and you are making that so hard to find.

I don't think he is, I think he is trying to get the developers attention as they seem to just lock of a topic if they can't resolve it.

Note how this has gone cold without response.

Rav,
Can you confirm if I send the EOFY report from the app after making my figures correct with adjustments, will that be the ONLY figure the ATO recieve?
