STP (EOFY) doesn't work!

I have been using STP since April 2019 and sometimes it didn't work - when I created a submission, nothing was added to the file so it couldn't be sent to ATO. I contacted Reckon One technical support and they told me to delete and re-process those pay runs. It is not a solution to me. Anyway, the last couple of pay runs in the 2018-2019 financial year were okay. Then I have done all pay runs by the end of June 2019. I see the STP (EOFY) option, then I tried to submit the pay summaries via it. It doesn't work! I asks me to choose which financial year to create, I chose 2018-2019, then nothing was added to it. Tried clearning the browser data, still not working. Now my employees are waiting to lodge their tax returns. Reckno One support is not contactable these couple of days when I called them. I feel helpless!

    Hi Nate,

I need some more info on this aspect. The end of financial year process won't create or send payment summaries, it will create and send a pay event file that is marked as the final one for the year. Your employees will then receive indication that they are tax ready in their MyGov accounts. STP replaces the need to create and send payment summaries.

Can you please follow the process outlined in this article -

Has anyone else encountered the same issue?

Hi Rav, I know it doesn't generate pay summary for the employees and it is supposed to send a file to ATO. I am using Quickbooks Online for another company and I have done the EOFY STP for employees in that company already so I know how STP works. But here in Reckon One, I followed the process in this article you mentioned. When I got to Step 3, nothing was added. It says There's nothing here yet... no matter how I tried.

I've had the same issue - no new line is added when you hit ADD for 2018-2019

I called Reckon Support yesterday afternoon nearly 5:50pm and I was lucky enough to speak to someone! The line was just cut off in the morning due to too many calls in. Anyway, he went through the employee records and found some of the employees have more than one line of entries in their "Important Dates" (in Employees - Employment). Some employees used to work for me as permanent staff, then they resigned but stayed on my casual list. So I had to terminate them as permanent staff first so that their entitlements were paid out, then change them to casual. So to make a track record, I created a second line in Important Dates. That caused the issue. I had to remove one of the lines for all the employees who had such situation, and keep only one line entry for each employee in their "Important Dates", then I could add the file for 18-19 FY. Hope this helps you.

OMG - Thank you!  Yes, we had an employee resign and then come back and so i'd added a line with a new start date.  That's so very random.  Although in govconnect the numbers for the EOFY are zero even though each employee has correct totals.
    Thank you agin.

You are welcome! I saw the zeros in total in govconnect too, but each employee's record seems correct, maybe because there are allowances, deductions, RESC etc. So I will just wait and see what the employees have got in their myGov account, maybe in a couple of days.
