I uploaded a STP file to the ATO in June to see if it worked before it became a requirement on the 1st July. The file came back with the following error:
The element 'Payroll' in namespace 'http://www.sbr.gov.au/ato/payevnt' has invalid child element 'AmendmentI' in namespace 'http://www.sbr.gov.au/ato/payevnt'. List of possible elements expected: 'InteractionTransactionId' in namespace 'http://www.sbr.gov.au/ato/payevnt'. Hint: while processing parent element [Payroll] child mandatory element [InteractionTransactionId] was expected but not found.
Fixed one problem of brackets around a phone number area code but have no idea what this means or how to fix it.
I submitted my first STP file for this FY as an Upload/Full File Replacement and got this message back;
We were unable to process your submission because we could not locate the submission that you have requested to be replaced.
I rang the ATO this morning and they couldn't give me an answer as to what the first message meant but told me to check all the employee information on Reckon.
The second message they think occurred because I upload the STP file as a 'Payroll Upload/Full Replacement File'. There are only two options available on RECKON GovConnect and the other option didn't fit the description of the file I was uploading. The ATO believed it was a software problem not the ATO.
Has anyone experienced a similar problem or know how to resolve it?

Hi Leanne. I don't have access to all of my information as I am away from my usual computer. But from memory, my first lodgement was rejected - the ID had changed. Essentially, they file was not able to be accepted. So I tried what you did as a full replacement, but because the original lodgement had been rejected for a technical reason, there was no file to replace. So I had to use the other option which worked, And I also saw a post from somebody else which indicated that you shouldn't do a replacement in similar type circumstances.
