STP not reaching SBSCH

After nine months of submitting STP reports via the Reckon Portal we have found that the reports are being received by ATO but are not getting to SBSCH!  The ATO has been contacted by both the owner of the business and her accountant with negative response to fix!
All payments sent to the ATO for super have been returned and that took some time to figure out also because there was no contact from the ATO with an explanation in any shape or form.
Can Reckon fix this somehow please or suggest a real solution which does not include contacting the ATO and SBSCH as they have been uncooperative.

Not confused at all Kevin.  Accountant contacted ATO this morning and that was what he was told.
Owner has paid super each week, but that money has been returned to the bank and amounts match the super payments.  As mentioned both ATO and SBSCH have been unhelpful.
There is no point paying any more because it will just be returned.  We owe about $13,500 dollars so far even though we did pay it!
We cannot have met our obligation if they have returned it surely??
Seems as if we are on a cycle of no-one taking responsibility and we have nowhere to go.

In my case I have to go to the clearing house and enter the amounts owing for each iemployee, in addition to the STP submission, that’s why it would be coming back as they have no employees to allocate it to

Really?  So what's the use of the Portal?  If it's just for end of year wage amounts then why not stay the same as decades, other than Big Brother will not get it first????
Can you advise if the Portal handles the JobKeeper Payment?

The portal handles whatever you put in the wages, Jobkeeper is just another pay rate, albeit a new and different one, but whatever is in your payroll is included in the STP submission. The ATO instigated all these changes not Reckon

    Hi Carol

Has the business owner been logging into SBSCH - via the ATO Portal - & actually submitting the information?????

If not, this will be why the payments are being rejected because there is no lodgment with the Clearing House as to what is owing/payable.

As Kevin mentioned, SBSCH is only a Clearing House for Super Funds.

Although STP allows the ATO to see what Super is payable & to check that payment has been made with the Super Funds via data matching, the STP process is not linked to the Super Fund notification process.

When the employer is ready to pay their Super liabilities, they first need to submit the information via the Clearing House – eg what is payable for a specified period for each employee.

Once payment has been made, the Clearing House will then “match” this payment with thesubmitted information & on-pay to the funds accordingly.

Hi Kevin, Kris answered my question.  I was not sure about the JobKeeper Payment being recorded via STP, but thank you for previous answer.
I have not liked STP since we started using it last July.  I much preferred "seeing" exactly what I did in SBSCH via AUSKey.  Now that I know it is still available I will likely go back to using it once the owner has fixed up my level to access her business!
i guess, like Kris, I will have to double handle things.

I use SBSCH via the Business portal, although not logging in with AUSkey, as Kevin said that no longer works.
i also use one of the Industry funds for another entity, I have no problem with either

Thanks Kevin, I know AUSKey is "gone" but the ATO portal is still exactly the same.  Owner entered her business and put me as an access but I do not know what level (and to be honest I do not know if she had a clue what she was doing!), but my access menu does not include BAS reporting or Employee Reports or anything the least useful to me!

What I don't understand is why we were not advised that we had to contact SBSCH with the super details.  Everything I read told us the submission by Reckon Portal would give the ATO the information required.  There was never a second step mentioned!

I was not aware we could go to each fund now.  I thought STP was to put an end to that.  Hopefully the boss will get me fixed up properly and we can use the ATO Portal and fix the super up.
Thank you Kevin and Kris for helping me.  Will be signing off now.

Carol.  Just to clarify a few points for you, which have probably been sort of covered already, one way or another.
    1.  Access to the ATO portal used to be by way of Auskey but now the only access is via MyGovID - it gives the same access to the Business Portal as did Auskey.
    2.  Through this same portal you can see the results of your lodgements of STP - STP is purely reporting your payroll information, that is, the transactions which have taken place in your pay for each employee, nothing else.
    3.  Again, through the ATO Business Portal, using MyGovId, you gain access to SBSCH, where you have to lodge your "monthly" report of SGC etc for each employee.  Part of that lodgement involves you being provided with information as to how you are to pay for your lodgement, which must match exactly the amount of your submission, and if it doesn't, any payment will be rejected.  The use of a Clearing House is a simplified method to enable you to lodge all of your super payments at one point instead of having to send to each fund as happened back in earlier times.
    4.  Again, through this same ATO Business Portal, you need to lodge your monthly JobKeeper report in order to get reimbursed the $1,500 per fortnight for each of your eligible employees.
    5.  It is through this same portal that you are able to lodge your Business Activity Statement.
In your case, you are able to make all of your lodgements through the ATO Business Portal and that is what I do for one business.  For another business, the Super Lodgement is made via another independent Clearing House.

With respect Kevin.  SBSCH is the Small Business Super Clearing House which is run via the ATO rather than some other entity.  This is for employers who do not want to use one of the myriad of other suppliers of a Clearing House.  However the point that you make is still valid in that if they use the service provided by the ATO you still have to actually lodge the super details as you have to do with any other Clearing House supplier.
