How to calculate Super on Ordinary Working Hours only

When I run pay cheques in Reckon, I have discovered that in calculating superannuation payments, Reckon applies the 9.25% to entire gross earnings for the pay period. According to Fair Work Australia and the Australian Tax Office, employers need only pay superannuation on "Ordinary Working Hours", thus supperannuation is not payable for "Overtime". How can I ammend setting in Reckon so that the superannuation is calculated on Ordinairy Working Hours only?

    Hi Jessielee,

Firstly you will need to disable Super calculations on that particular overtime item; to do this:

    1. List > Payroll Item List > Double click on the Superfund Item
    2. Click "Next" until you get to "Include payments in contribution" > Un-tick the overtime item in the list

You have successfully disabled Super calculations on the overtime item/s. Next you will need to amend the existing paycheque, to do this:

    1. Access the exiting paycheque and "Unlock the Net Pay"
    2. Remove the Superfund Line under "Other Payroll Items" then re-enter it back in there
    3. Apply the changes and save and close.

This will amend the paycheque to calculate the correct super amounts.

I hope this has helped. Have a great day.

    Regards,
    Tony
