Tax code not displaying in tax report

I have imported a journal (iif file) and then run a tax summary report, the amounts are falling into the correct section of the report but I notice when I drill into the report it does not display the tax code. I'm concerned that although it seems to be doing what it should (apart from displaying the tax item code) that it may be messing something else up in the background? Here is an example, journal has the tax code but the report does not? Can anyone help please. https://community.reckon.com.au/reckon/topics/new/add_details?post_flow=true&topic%5Bsubject%5D=Tax+code+not+displaying+in+tax+report

Hi Leanne,
The reason journals don't show the tax code on the report is because journals don't use tax codes. They use tax items. The column on the report called tax code can only look at tax codes, it can't look at tax items, or else all other transactions would show twice - once for the tax code, and again for the tax item.
This is how its been since the introduction to QBi back in 2008.
Regards,
Shane.

Thanks Shane, that makes sense. I had never actually looked at this report before. I only checked this time as importing journals was a new process for me so I just wanted to make sure I had all my bases covered and when i didn't see it assumed it was something to do with importing.
Thanks again.
