Time to print too long!!

Since the "upgrade" to Reckon Hosted a few weeks ago it is now taking up to 20 seconds or more to print one document because of the upload time. This is really frustrating as it really eats in to your productivity. Before the "upgrade" the print menu would appear instantaneously.

Hi all,
Do you notice this occurring on the first print job you attempt after logging into Reckon Accounts Hosted?

Or, does it occur on subsequent print jobs after the first as well?

I have timed the first print at 22 seconds and the second print at 15 seconds which is still way slow.  Its actually much slower to print now than when you had the dreaded "5 click" process. This urgently needs fixing.  Also the other time consuming thing is having to close all the tabs in your browser!  How come with other cloud accounting solutions like Xero you can simply print straight to the printer in the "blink of an eye" but with Reckon Hosted you can't!!!  My clients I have setup with Reckon are super annoyed at this (and with me for suggesting reckon), especially since this has happened after an "Upgrade". 

Here is what Reckon promised:
Improved printing
We have resolved a few printing issues - so you can now print multiple reports and change the number of copies to print. The default page size for printing is now A4.

We have also reduced the number of clicks required for you to print your documents including purchase orders, reports, invoices and more - which means you can now print faster (yeah right!)

Comon Reckon you really need to fix this!

Sorry to hear you're not finding the recent changes to Hosted productive Gavin.

Printing is certainly an area that we know historically has been an area of frustration and we've been working toward streamlining this with the latest update to Hosted.
However there hasn't been any change since my previous response.

I have however raised your feedback with our Hosted product team and while they've taken it on board, there are larger projects occurring at the moment that affect Reckon Accounts Hosted which we're working toward. For example, Reckon Accounts Hosted's migration to the Reckon Portal, GovConnect service replacement etc. I'm sure you can understand and appreciate the planning, personnel, resources, time and priority required.

If you have feature suggestions or improvements that you'd like to see in Reckon Accounts Hosted, I'd recommend lodging them in our Ideas Portal at ideas.reckon.com.

Rav, you do not seem to be listening to what I want.  I do not want to suggest ideas, I want to raise a serious compliant with Reckon.  This is just so ludicrous.  With all due respect please stop feeding me this line of "Sorry to hear...".  This is like selling a car to someone that the wheel falls off and the seller says... "Sorry about the wheel coming off... but this is not a priority for us right now".  Do you have an established complaints process or not?  You say re printing... "we've been working toward streamlining this with the latest update to Hosted", but you have made it worse for many users and refuse to give any meaningful process to get such a major problem addressed.

Well said, Gavin. I have had enough of this. While 20 secs doesn't sound long, it is when you are busy, and you have customers waiting. I can create an invoice quicker than the time it takes to print it, and if you saw my 2 finger typing, you'd understand how slow the process is.

Yes, you've already been in touch with our NZ team today in order to do so. 

I'm going to leave it there on that aspect.


While I appreciate the feedback you've brought forward, and we are in no way ignoring it, I'm being transparent with you in letting you know the current outlook on the specific topic rather than give you false expectations. While I appreciate that might not be what you'd like to hear, I'd rather be upfront with you than not.

RAV at the end of the day all I want is a time efficient printing process which I feel is not a big ask.
