I have upgraded to Reckon Accounts Pro 2014. I have exported the current job list to a iif file, but I cannot import it to QB Timer version 8. I am unable to export time activities and then import them into Reckon accounts pro

    Hi WA

when you exported the current job list to a iif file, from which version did you export it from?, if you have exported it from the version 2013 then you are using an older version of the timer, therefore you will not be able to import your job list into timer version 8.

please remove the older versions of the timer you may have installed and reinstall the timer from version 8 that comes with the reckon accounts 2014 package.

hope this helps, please let me know how you go with this

    Thanks

    Michael

    Hi Michael,
I downloaded the update from the internet so I don't have a disc with timer version 8 on it. Are you able to direct me to a downloadable version or do I need to request a disc?

    Hey WA,

    Please see :
    http://online.reckon.com.au/ReckonOnline/Help/FAQs.aspx

Under 'Online Resources' there is a link to download the QB Pro Timer.

    Thanks,
    Mirko

Hey Jeremy, welcome to the Community. Did you export lists from File>Timer>Export Lists for Timer or just export lists? Option A is the correct way. Thanks, Mirko

I am using Quickbooks 2014 online and having the same problem

I uninstalled my old version of Pro timer and reinstalled.
    I have exported using File>Timer>Export
When I go to do the import it says "You are attempting to import a file from an incompatible version of QuickBooks Pro. The QuickBooks Pro Timer Version 6.0 can only import from QuickBooks Pro Version 6.0. Bit confused as when I go the Help file on my Pro Timer and click on About QuickBooks Pro Timer it says Version 8 -

Hi Rachel, are you using Reckon Accounts 2014 or QuickBooks by Intuit?

    Hey Rachel

the file you are trying to import, where did the file come from?, if you exported a file from version 6 and tried to import into version 8 then you will get that message.

you can only import a file from the same version you exported the file from.

    Thanks

    Michael

The file came from Reckon Accounts Hosted 2014. We haven't had any problems previously - It occurred after we did the recent upgrade

Mirko, just a bit more info for you. We are actually still using the QuickBooks Pro Timer and I am having no problems importing the time sheets into Quickbooks. it is only when I try to export my updated customer list that I am having the problem

    Cheers

Quickbooks pro timer is version 8 and reckon pro timer is version 9

if you can go into control panel >> uninstall a program >> and check to see if you have 2 items on the list, first item is called "Pro timer" second item "QuickBooks Pro Timer".

can you uninstall both of these from your computer, then click on the link below to download the Reckon pro timer.

    Link: http://library.reckon.com.au/library/exe/Reckon_Accounts_Timer.exe

and let me know how you go with this

    Thanks
