I am using Reckon ACcounts Personal Plus 2015.  In my  share portfolio  I need to increase the width of the Security column but when the cursor changes it will not work  It seems as though the column width is locked. Any suggestions to follow.

Paul, you should be able to change the width of any column in Portfolio View.  Highlight the divider of the column, hold Left mouse button down and slide divider left or right.

Hopefully that will work

Unfortunately this does not work. I have  tried this  but the slide divider will not work. It just seems to flash reduces size of  the column but then will not allow me to increase the column width. It is as though the column is locked.

Paul, I've had a problem with column width disappearing completely.  Try running the program as Administrator.

Let me know if that works, otherwise there is one other option I've used when the columns disappeared.

Thanks DD, I cannot run as administrator as it asks for a new installation key. What next??

I gather that means you couldn't adjust the column width with the mouse.

If you right click on the properties of Reckon icon and go to the Compatibility Tab you should be able to tick Run as administrator, or does it then ask you for a Key?  If so, can you use the key you already have?

I have done this and the Reckon Icon shows as administrator but it still does not allow me to increase the column width. Also how do I get out of administrator now.

Sorry, Paul - can't help any further.  There are too many bizarre problems with Reckon under Windows 8 and 8.1.

Suggest you call tyhe Help line, but refuse to pay for the call.

Paul, it might help if you post a pic of the problem?

Hi Paul,

Sorry to hear of your troubles.

Open a Sample file and try doing the same actions.  Do you get the same results?

regards,
John

Thanks John, same problem, as suggested I created a new file but when I try to increase the size of a column in a sample share portfolio, the cursor changes but all that happens is the column reduces to about  half a centimetre and it cannot be increased. It happens with all columns in the portfolio.

Thanks
Paul

Paul, that's a different description than you initially made - you didn't say the column disappeared.

Have had the same problem.  If you right click on properties of Reckon, and go to Compatibility Tab, check " Disable display scaling on high DPI settngs" and see if that solves the problem - did with my laptop.

Actually I should not have said disappeared. It reduces to about half a centarmetre and you can only see the fits few letters in the column, not the full name

Thanks DD, I have just done what you suggested and it did fix my problem. Many thanks.

No problem, Paul.  Sorry I misunderstood your initial Post.

It's very frustrating that so many seemingly random problems are occurring under Windows 8 and 8.1 and Reckon's support staff are completely indifferent to users problems.
