I currently have a Multiuser environment with Reckon Accounts 2016 installed on 2 computers. One of those computers has the data file stored on it. This computer is shut down each night and sometimes I want to access QuickBooks from the other computer out of hours. I have another computer that I use as a server which runs 24hrs. Can someone explain the process for relocating my database onto the Server.

Hi Bob,
Thanks for asking.
I presume that the server does not run a Reckon Accounts application and you do not intend to run an application on it.
On the Server do the following:- Create a backup of your company file;
- Create a folder for your Reckon Accounts company file and copy your QBW file to it.
- Share this directory;
- Install Reckon Accounts with the option: Company File Server Only;
- launch Reckon Accounts from the System Tray and select the option to search for company files on this server.
- When files are located, go to your first computer and create a network path to the shared directory containing the company file.;
- Open your company file and confirm it is in Multi-User mode
- Open the company file from another computer with another user and confirm both are accessing simultaneously.
regards,
John.
