Updating ABN on files to send Tax Office

Hi I need help,  I use Single Touch Payroll  - registered in 2019 - 
the ABN number that is on my Reckon STP account is not registered, and get error msg from ATO when put through STP, I have updated the ABN on Reckon with new ABN but this is not updating on the data I send through to ATO? Help Please  Melissa

Hi Melissa,
Are you using the GovConnect service with Reckon software or are you using the Reckon STP app?

Can you let me know both the incorrect AND correct ABN's that you have registered into the STP service.

I have updated the ABN on Reckon with new ABN but this is not updating on the data I send through to ATO?
Can you let me know how you updated the ABN and what is happening to the submissions you're sending through now ie. what is the error message you are receiving?

Hi Rav, 
Yes I am using the GovConnect Service - the old ABN was 81621125997 the new/correct ABN is 87730560486.  Updated under company details in Reckon as I update address from 31/10 John Hines Avenue Minchinbury to  Suite 2, 438 High Street Penrith.
As for error msg from ATO is that

When I click on the ATO response it is  "We were unable to process your submission because your ABN is not active"

Hi Melissa,
I've had a look at your account and there is no record of the correct ABN 87730560486 being registered in GovConnect at the moment.
When you say you updated it in under the company details, do you mean you changed it within your accounting software itself only?

If so, then there's one more step which is to create a new STP entity within GovConnect for your correct ABN as well so that you can submit your STP reports to it.
When you are logged into your Portal account, click on 'Add Product' in the top right corner and select 'Reckon GovConnect'.
Go through the setup to create a new STP entity for your correct ABN.

You'll see a new 2nd STP entity in GovConnect after doing this which is the one you'll need to use to submit your STP pay events to.
