What program, year, version?
Multi-user or single user?  Or no user can open it?

Can you open the SAMPLE file?
(IE: prove the problem is either the PROGRAM versus the DATA file?)

Hi mate,

Which version of Reckon Accounts are you using and on which operating system?

What task/activity are you performing when you encounter that error? Also, when did it start occurring?

I've found a KB article around this specific error codes which should help you out -

Error -6150 , -1006: An error occurred when QuickBooks tried to create, open, or use the company file
