We are trying to submit end of year report. The totals for gross and tax withheld do not match actual entries.

Trying to submit EOFY report but total figures do no match individual entries. Read through similar posts and saw advice that during generation of EOFY report there would be an option to adjust - no such option found, only option is too declared the false total as true and submit to ATO (something we are not prepared to do).  Tried making adjustments but an adjustment wont accept negative numbers.  This app is CRAP !

Hi, I found some info at "End of Financial Year Report STP app Reckon help & support".  They have some information that might be helpful.  My figures don't match either.  I have only just submitted my final pay run for the year, so I am waiting for it to be approved by the ATO before I submitt my EOFY report.  Good luck.

The EOFY report does not run correctly. There is a bug where even if you correctly submit all payruns for the year. It double counts July 2019.  There is a another thread where this has been raised but there is no advice coming back from the administrator.

OK I have read through a few times what you recommend and it does not appear to be a legal way of producing an end result, if I make an adjustment and then lodge with the ATO they are going to start asking questions I cannot answer.

I will be contacting the ATO for advise as your advice does not appear consistent with Australian tax law as I understand it.

Suggest you sort the issue out with your software developers.

I am having the same problem where entries and summary do not add up. Obviously a bug in the software app. I will be submitting a manual summary to tax office but hopefully this will get fixed before next tax year when I am no longer allowed to submit manually. However I disagree about the value of the app, as it has been the easiest app to utilise up until this bug.

Grant, you're more than welcome to have a chat with the ATO. I recommend you do so if you're uncomfortable with any aspects of the process.
I'll leave some info for you here from the ATO that states amendments can be done as part of the EOFY finalise process - https://www.ato.gov.au/Business/Single-Touch-Payroll/In-detail/Single-Touch-Payroll-employer-reporting-guidelines/?anchor=FinalisingyourSingleTouchPayrollreporti1#FinalisingyourSingleTouchPayrollreporti1

Gee Rav, thank you for giving me permission to contact the ATO, it is greatly appreciated.

Got my 75 point badge, going to have a drink to celebrate :)

I'm going with Linda's option of a manual summary if ATO will accept.

Hi, I am having the same issue. The app EOFY figures do not agree with the figures submitted & do not agree with the MyGov figures. The MyGov figures are correct so I don't want to do an adjustment. I am at my wits end. Any ideas how to get around this, please. Greg

Hi Rav, Thank you. I applied the adjustments to get the final figures correct & submitted the end of year report to ATO. Cheers Greg

Greg,

Have you checked with the ATO that what you have done is acceptable to then, I think it is very dodgy, and if you have say 20 employees do you have to manually check & adjust all of them?

Just a note on what you've stated above Grant.
I appreciate that you might be just posing a hypothetical, however just to be clear the STP app is for micro-business only (1-4 employees). The app was designed specifically with the ATOs low-cost solution requirements in mind. See https://www.ato.gov.au/business/single-touch-payroll/in-detail/low-cost-single-touch-payroll-solutions for more info. These requirements include those with 1-4 employees only.

If you are reporting STP submissions for 20 employees, you should not be using this app and instead be using a full payroll software such as this here.

Y,
The ability to create an adjustment is in the Pay Run screen. Click the blue + symbol and select 'New Adjustment'.

I'd recommend that you read the end of financial year guide for the app here -

Rav,
Can you confirm if I send the EOFY report from the app after making my figures correct with adjustments, will that be the ONLY figure the ATO recieve?

Hi Ari,
Yes, the EOFY finalisation that you send from the app will be full & final figures that the ATO receive for your employees for the year. It will overwrite everything that came before it.

Hi Rav,  I need to submit a negative adjustment before EOFY but the app won't let me put in the - symbol.  Could you help please?
