What is the purpose of a Registered Office?
- The registered office of an Australian Company must be a physical address within Australia.Cannot be a PO Box address or similar.
- Purpose to have a place where all Company documents, communications and notices can be sent.
- If the company doesn’t occupy the registered office address, then the occupier must provide their written consent for the company to use the address.
- Any changes to the registered office must be lodged within 28 days to ASIC. This is done on a form 484A – change to Company Details.
