Hi Diane,

Welcome to the Reckon Community.

This error suggests your security levels on Internet Explorer are set too high.

In Internet Explorer, go to Tools > Internet Options > Security, then in the Internet zone lower your security setting:

then on the Privacy tab, lower the security:

Hope this gets you back up and running.

regards,
John

Hey John, unfortunately this did not help.  I have made the changes to Internet Explorer and I still cannot add a new employee.  Any more suggestions?

Hi Diane,

Sorry that hasn't resolved the issue for you.

Are you creating the employee directly in the Employee Centre or are you using the Employee Organiser?

regards,
John

I was trying directly in the Employee Centre and this didn't work.  Then I tried using the Employee Organiser and IT WORK!!!  Thank you so much for your help.  I really appreciate it.  Diane

Glad to hear its now working for you Diane.

For me its a mystery why you got the script error.  Its more usual to have the script error when using the Employee Organiser.

Would you be able to send through a screenshot of the error message either here or to our email at community@reckon.com.au?  I would appreciate that very much.

best regards,
John

Hi John,

I have the same issue and it still remains unsolved.

I've sent a screenshot attached to an email describing the problem I'm having and looking forwarding to hearing from you soon.

Thank you!

Hi Debbie,

Welcome to the Reckon Community and thanks for all the information you sent through.

This is a problem that we have not been able to properly define and think it has something to do with older versions of some processes built into the product.  This error is more common with older versions of the product running on newer operating systems.

It is a benign error, so just click on Yes on this and any other screen that opens and continue with your work.

Things you can do to reduce its occurrence are:
  1. Launch QuickBooks from its application icon and then open your company file.  Do not use a shortcut directly to your company file.
  2. In Internet Explorer > Tools > Options > Security, have your settings at Medium, and if Enable Protected Mode is ticked, untick it.
  3. Reboot the PC and try again.
  4. Ultimately upgrade your Reckon Accounts to the latest version.

Hope this helps,

regards,
John
