Why do the values in Reports Tax Summary do not match the values in the BAS report?

Why do the values in Reports Tax Summary do not match the values in the BAS report?
I created the BAS report and it shows a negative value in in the G1 Total sales box. the total capital sales is close but does not match (G10). I am sure I have my splits correctly coded and the Tax summary is a correct. I would have thought that the tax summary values would populate the BAS fields.

Hi Roger,

Yes you are correct - they should match.

Have you checked that your date range is correct in the BAS report? Then you will want to check that you have also correctly coded the BAS tax items by clicking on the G1 icon, etc.

Also the Tax Liability report should reflect your business reporting basis, ie, Cash not accrual, if that is how you report the GST.  Sometimes the report needs to be modified to get the right one otherwise figures will be different.

Can I have a copy of the document to check configuration.  For some reason this quarter my BAS is adding in the GST to my totals.  I can't figure out what I've done wrong and I didn't think I did anything different from previous BAS/IAS.
