The Payroll Premier Recovery function is very useful to quickly get you into a good working copy of the data file from a time when a pay run was last successfully processed.

Using the built-in
Payroll Premier Recovery feature, see if you have any previous
"auto-backup" sets available.

* Auto backups are made after each pay run is completed.

The Payroll Premier BACKUP folder will typically have a stored archive of past pay runs.

IMPORTANT: Using this feature will overwrite your current data file and replace it with an older copy (hopefully from a time when no problems are present)

We recommend that you first make a backup of your current data file before making use of this feature.

Windows 10

1) Next to the Windows icon (usually on the bottom left corner of the screen) is the list of applications that are installed

2) Locate the "Payroll Premier Recovery" utility and select it

3) If prompted with a User Account Control dialog window, click Yes to allow the software to continue

4) Go through the Payroll Recovery wizard screens by clicking the Next button

5) Select the option "I wish to recover back to a previous pay" and then click the Next button

6) Choose from the list of automatically backed up pay runs that would have been created at the time of your last pay run

8) If you have found a recent automatically backed up pay run, click the Next button and follow the rest of the wizard steps

9) If all goes well you should end up with a data file as of the last pay run date which you can work on and make up-to-date.

10) If there were no suitable backup sets you could go back to, then you will need to start again with a fresh new file.
