ATO Integrated Client Account - not just GST

I see two problems.
1. The ATO no longer has such a named account. The ATO recently renamed it to 'Activity Statement account'.
2. I think the Reckon One system account has been put in the wrong place. Currently it is a sub account under GST Liabilities. However, it deals with more than just GST. A debit/credit on this account could be in relation to Fuel Tax Credits, PAYG Instalments, PAYG Withholding or Fringe Benefits tax, ATO penalities and ATO interest.
Solution: If you insist on making it a locked system account that we cannot alter, then please put it as an Other Liability account (and rename it).
In the meantime I have to setup a new account for each cllient - because running a report using your account gives misinformation as to the GST liability that is left after a BAS has been processed.

The ATO account name may have recently changed the name of this account but the balance of the account is what would be shown as the liability of the entity and yes is made up from GST owed/refundable, PAYG withheld, PAYG instalment etc.

Thanks Lynda, yes the balance is still correct, but I suppose my main issue is that the account shouldnt be under the GST liability header - as it is more than GST.

amen cm, hearing you and feeling your pain, there are a few things set up wrong by non-accounting people and locked as well, I too have to make them inactive and start again.  Wish they would leave it to us to set up based on how clients need to be entered and NOT lock stuff.
