When to set up a New Account

The client I have (which prompts most questions!) now has 348 employees listed. Not all of them are currently working, most have left but are still there in the 'terminated' list.

For the past few weeks, I am have been having trouble keeping Payroll Premier open when I am working in their account. Is it time to set up a new account for this client and only enter the current employees? Especially when I am pulling up the STP report each week, it really seems to struggle.

I'm not particularly busy at the moment so if this is a good idea, I do have time to put all those who were working from 1 July into a new set up for this financial year.

Cheers, Cheryl

    Hi Cheryl,

I'd strongly recommend you consider archiving which will make your file smaller in size and should markedly improve your performance as well. I'll link a guide below which has more info on this process -

Thank you (as always!), Rav. I hadn't considered that. I've done it in a couple of my long standing book keeping clients, but did not think about that as a solution in payroll. I'll give it a go.
