pos desktop error

pos closes after every second transaction with the following message

" Form _ keydown

-2147417848

Automation error.

I reopen POS and seems ok but then will shutdown again after the second transaction . anybody can help?

    It can be a runtime error with QuickBooks. Can you please let me know which QuickBooks POS version you're using?

    We have just encountered the exact same issue with POS lite.

    How did you resolve the issue 622236?

    We contacted Reckon Support and first needed to purchase the latest version (2024) of Retail POS Lite in order to receive customer support. After installing the latest version the problem remained. Interestingly, there is very little change in the software from the 2013 to 2024.

    Support then explaining the problem is in Windows, specifically, the User Profile in corrupt. We went to a lot of trouble to build new user profiles only to find a week later the error returned on all terminals!

    Furiously, Reckon are now telling us to reinstall Windows (effectively wiping the PC's) and disable Windows Updates when that is done to ensure the recent Windows Update doesn't install. No thanks.
