Accept mobile number during sign up

Off the back of a R1 customer onboarding review, there are a couple of action we'd like your help with.
when a prospect signs up with SSO I dont believe we're able to retrieve their mobile number. Are we able to prompt this as a 2nd step in the process? Also for users that sign up without SSO, can we set up a a mobile number validation? The objective is to increase the number of contacts in CRM with a valid phone number to help with outbound call activity and SMS campaigns to engage trialists and customers.
