How to resolve error code -6000,-83

Our data files are now saved on the server. Each time I open a file, it comes up with error code -6000,-83. Even when I try saving the file on my computer, it comes up with the same error code.

If you are talking about your own server, it may be a permissions issue. This knowledgebase article may help:

We are trying to upgrade our Reckon Premier 2013 to Premier 2014. I have loaded the software onto three computers. It worked on all three computers when I first installed it but the next day it will not load. I have chosen the correct company file and I keep getting the following error message -6000,-83.
