Overwrite QB prices when I import datas into QB
Easychef
Hi All,
I am using Reckon Accounts Premier Edition 2013, however we are an export company where we have our own export software where we use a third party software to import datas into QB for accounting purposes.
I am wondering if the data that I Import from my export software will overwrite the item prices in QB? or it will automatically use QB's data prices instead?
Thanks!

provided its mapped properly, then it shouldn't. there are certain fields required to bring in data in to reckon accounts. but love to know more about your 3rd party application. call on 0407068942.

Easychef,
What 'data' are you actually importing into Reckon Accounts?
What is your industry specific Export Software sending out and in what format?
Is it Items only?
Is it Items and transactions like invoices?

Hi IM,
Thank you for your reply!
We want to import item only. We use "Zed System" as third party software to upload data into QB.
OzDocs is the operating system we use for our Exporting business. When the files are "exported" from OzDocs, it is an Excel CSV File.
We wanted to import item list only, as our product and price database in OzDocs are correct, but our Reckon Accounts prices are incorrect. Hence, we are looking to see if there is a way where we can upload our OzDocs database into Reckon Accounts and wondering if it will overwrite the wrong prices in the item list in Reckon Accounts? Or I will have to do a vlookup in excel file before I upload into Reckon Accounts is the only way?
Thanks.

Easychef, I'd recommend that you do a test import into a new test file that you create just for this purpose to confirm whether the integration method that Zed Systems uses allows for its newly imported data to overwrite the existing information in the Reckon Accounts item list.

Usually the imported data always overwrites the existing data. Usually.

Yes, agree, prior manipulation, may be required, or developing a program to automate the import to Reckon. We are doing something bit similar to client info coming from a 3rd party software called Apian to QBE

Thank you all for your suggestions and info, will give it a try with new test files and see how I go. Probably will need to check out other 3rd party softwares to help improve this import and export of data.
Cheers
