Exporting Purchases with MPN

In Reckon Accounts 2014. I need to create a report similar to purchases by supplier detail but include the MPN (manufacturers part number) for each item. I haven't found it in the filters, has anyone come across a way to export purchases with this field? It is needed to import into another system,

Hi Peter, I don't think this is possible yet. I know at most sites who have this requirement we use the MPN as the Item number to get around this.

Peter your other option may be to develop your own export reports in Excel using something like QODBC which allows you to pull data from multiple tables in the Reckon database, into a reporting engine, like Excel. You can then save the reports in Excel, and every time the report is opened it refreshes the data from Reckon with out the product even needing to be opened. You can even set the reports to auto-refresh as data is input into Reckon!

Thanks Nathan - I looked at doing this but the client we are doing this for is not one to allow third party access to their accounts, it is ok to export purchases, but to hook into the Reckon database leaves him cold as he doesn't like the thought of someone seeing his figures;

Thanks Nathan my thoughts and how we also normally do it, but for some reason the book keeper has set it up with the COGS account as part of the item number - pretty crazy. when it has 4 sub COGs accounts, the owner may have to suck it up and accept it to hook in. although I would have thought any app developed would give access to all programmable fields in reports.

Looks like QODBC cannot access the MPN field. Very limited to ItemInventory table too. Will see what the SDK team has to say on the API SDK access
