Reckon Accounts Premier 2014 crashes at splash screen

Core i5 machine with Windows 7 Pro in a server domain.
I am the administrator, with administrator rights on my user account.
2 other Windows 7 Pro machines are happily running ok, connected to our QB server.
New installation of Reckon Accounts Premier on a PC that has never had this software.
Installation goes fine.
First run of the software allows for selection of Manufacturing and Wholesale ok.
Second run displays the Splash Screen, and immediately crashes without error message.
Further attempts are the same.

I've tried everything that I've found on the internet, but nothing works, including;
Disable Antivirus
Reinstall
Reinstall as administrator
etc.

What logging is available to look into this problem?

I noticed on another webpage that for QB 2014 they had a fix which simply entailed installing the updated version.. I am trying to find the update on the Reckon site.. assuming they are TWINS, cos mine crashes after going into credit cards.. good luck
