Reckon Accounts 2014 Install - 1603 error

EDIT: Looks like pasting the log breaks your text parser, I've removed the log data. Is there a way to attach a text file?

I'm attempting to install Accounts 2014 on a Windows Server 2008R2 machine for testing however the Reckon Accounts installations keeps getting interrupted with an error. We currently have Accounts 2013 installed on other machines however this machine is a fresh build.

The Windows event logs show MsiInstaller is returning error 1603 for the Reckon Accounts package, looking at the verbose %TEMP%/QuickBooks_07.log file to track down the exact cause yields...

This is occuring both on the local administrator account and my domain administrator, the setup.exe file is being run as administrator both times. I can't track down any more logs that can shed light on the problem, are you able to assist?

Thanks,
James

    Hi Mirko,

Still the same after the .NET repair/reinstall i'm afraid, including the error in the MSI log file. It looks like the MSXML library and runtimes are being installed ok, it's just the Accounts package that's failing.

The relevant part from the MSI log file is at https://privatepaste.com/22b904a871

If reinstalling .NET 1.1 didn't do the trick, try turning off firewalls, anti-virus and other security, as this error indicates something is blocking the installation.

(You may want to disconnect from the internet while security is turned off).

All those were disabled while I was trying before. Reading some more I've tried doing an install in Selective Startup mode as the local administrator and it seems to be going through.

Any idea what could have been disabled by doing that that was affecting the installation? I will have to install this into our production environment after testing is completed so any info that might help that would be appreciated.

    Hi Narelle.

Good luck, though if you do run into similar issues the links in Mirko's first reply were helpful, specifically the section about installing in Selective Startup mode (http://kb.reckon.com.au/issue_view.asp?ID=152) since all of my .NET frameworks were ok.

I'm just not entirely sure why there were issues to begin with....

Thanks for your response Palak. I got it installed yesterday in Selective Startup mode. Once my users have finished testing I'll try things listed here post again with an update.
