Payroll payment date and online banking

I'm just wondering if the system could be changed so that the payroll payment date selected when creating a pay automatically flows through to Online Banking. The date in the ABA files automatically defaults to the current date where it could be picked up from the date the payroll is to be paid saving the user from having to remember to manually change the date.

Hi Jane. Yes you are correct and yes I agree that it would be a good idea to have the ABA file creation automatically use the date specified at the time of the payroll creation. It can be a real pain in the neck if editing the date is overlooked as I know that Wespac does not provide the ability the edit the date of the ABA file within online banking. I also use another financial institution which does allow the date to be edited. It has happened on a couple of occasions that I forgot to change the date and as a result I found that it was quicker to re-run the pay as an unscheduled pay rather than try and set up a batch payment within online banking. I have thought about setting up a special batch for such an emergency, but because of the rarity of the event, have not yet done so. Fortunately the number of employees that I am involved with involving two separate entities makes it fairly easy to re-run the pay for me. John L G1

It must be a personal preference thing. I like the way it works with Westpac. Ive been using it for a long time0

I know that I can change the date in the Online Banking function but it would make more sense (and remove one more thing to remember to do) if the payroll payment date automatically flowed through.1

Hi John I have twice run the pays earlier that expected (not a huge problem I know, but frustrating all the same) due to being distracted (phone ringing, people wanting stuff) whilst running the pays and forgetting to change the date from the current date. I think it's a great suggestion and I hope Reckon take it on board!0
