Can I use Reckon Account Plus 2017 to record bonds buy & sell
Neil Heard
I currently use Reckon Account Plus for our service business but we recently have bought and sold bonds and not sure how best to record them so the Balance sheet shows true values.

Neil, Reckon is not very helpful for anything beyond shares. I have had trouble recording Precious metals and now Bonds.
What I do with Bonds is use the "Bonds Bought" to record the purchase, then "Capital Return" to record the non-taxable component that matures, then "Record an Income Event > Interest/Coupon" to record the coupon interest component, then "Remove Shares" to take it off the Holdings register.
It is not a clean operation and surely Reckon should look at some of these issues since Bonds and precious metals and even commodities may be owned by different Reckon users from time to time.
