Entering bills (accounts payable)

Hi there

Ive recently started a new job and the company uses Reckon Accounts. Their current procedure is to enter the invoices once they receive the end of month statement (so they enter the supplier, total amount as per the statement and allocate each invoice on a line with its relevant cost code and changing the due date to the 30th of the month). So without physically going through each paper copy of previous months you have no idea if that invoice has been paid before. I’m wanting to change this process to:

* Entering each invoice as they arrive with the reference number being the invoice number which then should prompt if that invoice has previously been entered and then cross reference with the statement to ensure the correct outstanding invoices are being paid.

My only concern with this is when I create the ABA file will it deposit each individual payment to a supplier or will it add all the payment amounts together and deposit on lump sum (ie some suppliers can have up to 10 invoices for the month will this come up as 10 individual payment amounts or the total of all 10 invoices)

Thanks for your help :)

    Hi m3I0820

The ABA will transfer a single lump sum out of your bank account & make 1 total payment per Supplier as per each Supplier’s payable total 😁
