do you have to finanlise your STP file before doing the update

I need to process pay and am not able to upload the finalisation of the 2021 financial year. Do I have to have that completed before doing the update?

    FY 2022 STP reporting can commence before FY 2021 is finalised.

    No. You can upgrade before you finalize STP
