Anybody having problems with there backups while trying to upgrade to 2022 on RECKON Hosted. I have done a portable backup of my company file in 2021 version and are no trying to upgrade to 2022 but reckon just stalls during the backup process. I have been waiting more than 4 hours for this backup to complete and it is still running. Just got logged off on the previous two attempts. It is just so frustrating as I have this problem every year. I am dreading this upgrade process every year. I even have this problem with my normal backups.

Have you tried doing a regular backup, no need to do a portable backup, I have never used this feature and have no problem backing up the normal way

If you are creating a PORTABLE file in the 2021 R2 application, you can restore that portable using the 2022 R2 application.

If you are having problems upgrading the data file due to its size:

    1) How large is your QBW file?

    2) How large is the associated TLG file?

A large TLG is the result of no regular backups with complete verification being performed.

A large QBW + a large TLG will certainly take a long time to backup.

Here is a relevant support article:

If you have a large TLG file try:

If you have a very large QBW file, consider:

    1) Downloading a copy of the QBW file to your local computer

    2) Download and install a single-user Enterprise desktop 2022 software on your computer (you are entitled to and can get a licence from the Customer Service Team, the Technical Support Team can also assist you with installation)

    3) Use that installed Reckon Accounts Enterprise 2022 software to upgrade your data file

    4) Once you have upgraded the file successfully to the 2022 format, create a portable file

    5) Upload that portable file to your Hosted B: drive

    6) Launch the Accounts 2022 R2 application and then RESTORE the upgraded portable file
