Upgrading file before EOFY

Dear All

Accountant upgraded file before I had completed all reconciliations for previous financial year. Payroll done in another software so that's not an issue. However can I proceed to complete reconciliations for previous financial year in new Reckon version ie 2023 R1 rather than 2022 R2?
