Hi, How do l import the accountant's copy (made in August .QBX file extension) if we have already updated to the new 2023 version (looking for a .QBY extension). Thanks.

    Hi Kate

Was the Accountant's Copy created in the new 2023 version also ? If not, I wouldn't think you'll be able to import it as the file versions won't be compatible 😬

Hopefully, a Reckon Staff member can confirm/clarify ?

It was created in the original 2023 version however we have since updated to the newer 2023 version with the bug fixes.

That should be OK then @Kate Rixon

    Have you gone to here:

(I personally never use this feature as I don’t like accountant’s fiddling around in the file because they tend to like entering GJs to already-reconciled accounts! 🤦🏻‍♀️🤨 I give them read-only User access if necessary & discuss any queries. Then if any adjustments are required I will do them … CORRECTLY! 😆)

@Kate Rixon, following on from Shaz's comment, my policy has always been to ask the accountant to provide me the journals that they require, which I then enter manually.

    Rationale being:

    • it prevents changes to already reconciled accounts
    • I actually see what the accountants are changing. This gives me a better feel for what is going on in my clients' files.
