Long Service Leave
Hello,
My LSL accrual for 'Every hour' is defaulting to 0.00028 in Reckon Accounts Premier Desktop. I cannot seem to override this as it is incorrect. I have been calculating my LSL and tracking into in Excel which means my staff cannot see it on their payslips.
The 'Every pay' option only allows two decimal places which means that the calculations using their default of 0.02 that option would also be incorrect (should be 0.166).
Can anyone advise how I can override the default or if perhaps it is hidden in a setting somewhere that I have not found?

Hi Jenny
Every Hour is the best option for all leave accruals as this ensures ongoing accuracy, even when hours fluctuate.
Firstly, make sure your company Time Format is set to Decimal, NOT Minutes. You'll find this option in the file Preferences (under the Edit dropdown menu, along the top toolbar) under General > Company Preferences:
Then you need to do edit it in the employees' Leave Details tab, here:

Thank Shaz,
The only issue with this is that Reckon limits the number of decimals to 2 places. I am unable to enter 0.1667 which leaves me with either 0.01 or 0.02, both of which are inaccurate.
Do you know if the default number of decimals can be changed in settings?

Hi Jenny
As per my (second) screenshot above, the decimal places is 5 (I have entered 0.01667) If it's only allowing 2, this means it's set to Minutes format, NOT Decimal !
My instructions above - with the first screenshot - show how to change this 😊

Hi Shaz,
Thank you again. I am not sure what is going on with my Reckon. The settings are on decimal and I am trying to sue 'Every hour'. Every time I try and put 0.01667 in, it either tells me I have too many decimals or it defaults itself to 0.00028, which is strange because that has five decimals. I have also had issues with YTD values displaying correctly on payslips (STP and Reports are correct).
I will run a verification and rebuild to see if the problem is fixed and run through your instructions again. Worst case, I will uninstall and reinstall.
I'll let you know how I go.

Hi Jenny
Yes, please do as that is very odd 😖
Can you post a screenshot of it on here ? (You can block out any identifying info) - Happy to take a look if you need 😊
