Is it necessary to pay a yearly cost for the Desktop Software?

Hi there

I'm an old user of Reckon. I ran my Desktop software as a once off purchase and didn't bother with yearly upgrades as I just wanted accounting software, not full on tax/BAS reporting.

If I buy the new 2023 Desktop software does it have a mandatory upgrade/license cost or can it be used as a once off purchase to keep my finances organized?

Unfortunately no once off any more, only subscription, and yes very disappointing

Is it the same cost every year or is it a reduced cost? EG $600 this year for software, would that make it $600 next year or is it a reduced cost just to update the software, eg $150 (These are random numbers for the example)?

Same price every year, but price rises always possible
