How to convert a QDF file

Hello,

I'm trying to upload an account file - but the file type is QDF. I need to convert this to an alternate format so I can actually open it with my accounting software, I've tried to call Reckon Support - and unfortunately (horribly) no technical support is actually available for the desktop version of my client's software which has just cemented my desire to move to an alternate format. Is there a way I can do this without being out of pocket by $300 to pay for software that isn't useable in today's cloud based climate, and also get zero support for that amount of money?

At this stage I was trying to get it to be recognisable by either Reckon one online or MYOB, but now, just MYOB.

So how do I get access to the files?

How do I convert the file type? And how do I submit a complaint about Reckon's inflexibility? They don't even have a reviews page with honest reviews which is ridiculous. They used to be decent and flexible, but that's obviously changed.

This file can only be read by Personal Plus or Home and Business

Okay, and if I proceed with the annual only purchase of $300 for the updated version of Personal plus home and business, will it then allow me to export to excel for conversion to an alternate database or do I have to mannually enter the data into the new database and export it that way?

You can Export most reports to excel, if you need to purchase the programs i can do it for you as long as you know which verson you need and i may be able to get you some discount

Thanks Gerry, You're more than welcome to try, though I don't think I'll qualify for any discounts. From my phone discussions earlier today, I need to purchase Home and Business 2022 for between $270 and $330 for an annual licence.

Am I missing something here?

The QDF file is specifically for personal plus and/or home and business software.

Why would Reckon have a remit to allow a proprietary file extension, specific to their particular software, to be taken elsewhere? Seems like a pretty peculiar rant to me but maybe I'm misunderstanding

I have been asked to manage the data on this file on behalf of another. I asked if that could be done via the cloud based software or through MYOB. Personal use or not, it is extremely limiting and expensive for those who manage such accounts for others, if they have to pay for and download single use, personal use software everytime a client brings their data over to be managed.
