New Data File with imported customer and item lists
I'm starting a new Reckon Hosted data file, but I want to import (from a previous data file):
- the customer and supplier lists
- chart of accounts
- item lists
Not sure how to do this?

go to the old file and select File - Utilities - export IIF file. Then tick the lists you want and save. When you have created the new file do the same thing but select Import and browse to where you have saved the file

Dear @donnamaro1 ,
You can export out lists from Reckon Accounts by using the "Export Lists to IIF" option.
To do this, you'll need to do the following:
- Open the company file you wish to export lists out of.
- Go to the File menu.
- Go to Utilities.
- Go to Export…
- Select "Lists to IIF".
- Select "Customers", "Suppliers", "Chart of Accounts" and "Item Lists".
- Save this to your Q:\ Drive.
You will now have an IIF file you can import into a company file.
Please note: as you're exporting out Chart of Accounts, you'll want to create a relatively blank new company file to reduce the chance of failure when importing.
To do this, you may want to consider creating the new file with the following settings:
- When you're creating your Company File:
- In How is your company organised, select Other/None.
- In Select your industry, select Other/None.
- Once the file is created, go to the File Menu.
- Go to Utilities.
- Select Import…
- Select "IIF files".
- Select your IIF file you saved from the previous set of steps.
Your IIF file will then fill your new company file with your information.
Let me know if you need any further assistance - I'm always happy to help.
