Your JSON object has some incorrect values error uploading Single Touch Payroll

Hi Everyone,

I've gone to do my single touch payroll and I'm getting the below error. Nothing has changed from last month. Nothing has changed on my systems. Last month uploaded fine. I've exported the file twice with the same result. When I look at the details, nothing looks out of place. Has the requirements changed within a month? Can anyone help?

This error relates to special/invalid characters in the employee and/or company details. (Invalid data e.g. an invalid or special character in a name or address for example).

Can you please review the details like the employee names, addresses etc. and also the address fields in your company section? Thank you!

Special Characters like (!@#$%^&*()_+:"<>?{), Any spaces etc. I hope this helps.

@blairmuller ,

I have encountered a few times when you accidentally enter spacebar before or after in the field. I would suggested to re-enter in it again because it might be a space and you might not be able to see it.

Hi @blairmuller ,

This error also appears if there is any presence of Pay run with $0.00 allowance. To resolve this error you need to remove any allowance that have $0.00 balance from those pay runs.

I also have this problem. The STP uploaded fine with no problems then suddenly not. I have checked for invalid characters. Nothing has changed between when it uploaded then suddenly didn't.

I had this once before and fixed it - when I received that error message it was very specific and told me that the error was a '+' that had been put in at the beginning of a new employee's phone number, even telling me what that phone number was, so it was easy to find.

Why is the error message now so general i.e. the JSON object error?

I have been through everything and found nothing. Any suggestions on how to find or fix?

Yes, we had added some but I have been through all their data multiple times and can't find any invalid characters. Some have surnames that have a space in between the two with no hyphen, but that has never caused a problem before.
