Print/email issues after upgrade to 2024

Reckon Accounts Desktop (with Company File Server)

After upgrading to RA desktop 2024, when trying to print/email invoice a pop up window came up saying:

Warning The file you specified cannot be opened. Make sure that it is not currently being used by another program or a read-only file. The window error was 'The file exists.' File: C:\ProgramData\Intuit\Reckon Accounts 2024\QBPRINT.QBP

I have looked at previous issues with this and it was advised to find the file and uncheck the read only. However there is no QBPRINT.QBP file within the path above. (within explorer, The View, show hidden files, is ticked)

Other programs can still print, so not a printer issue.

When you click the pop up windows 'OK' button multiple times, it will eventually bring up the print/email window and then the same warning window pops up again, click OK multiple times again, and then it will print/email.

    Hi

Thank you for responding. I was initinally looking in the folder Program files instead of Program Data, so my apologies there.

I have since found the QBPRINT.QBP file. The read only box was already unticked so I looked further and found within Properties/Security/Permissions under USERS I added a tick to the boxes, Full Control; Modify; and Write, so it was the same as the permissions for SYSTEM and ADMINISTRATORS, and now it appears to be working without the pop up window.

Please advise if you see an issue with this.

    Hi SBPanak,

I'm glad to hear that you were able to resolve the issue. Adjusting the permissions seems to have done the trick. And I don't see any issues doing this process.

    Best regards,

    Karren
