STP - Uploading July pays without updating to 2024 R1 Reckon

Hi

I have completed a pay run with pay date 4 July and will run payroll today. I manually changed the tax payable based on the Weekly tax table for payments made from July 1 and updated the super to 11.5%. I have not yet updated to 2024 R1 as I need to complete a backup which I cannot do during work hours (will do on the weekend) and just checking I can send the STP report through to the ATO without updating first. I have finalized EOFY STP.

Thanks

yes you can send STP from either version, FYI part of upgrading to 2024 involves making a backup in the process.I'm not sure if you can cancel that

    Hi Kris

Not to sure what you mean by cancel that. If the backup happens at the time of upgrading that's fine, I just can't do it during working hours as it takes forever. I will go ahead and upload STP's for these payruns.

    Thanks

I meant if you do a backup before you do the upgrade it will ask you to do another one as part of the upgrade. You won’t want to do it again but I don’t know if you have to, or whether you can cancel that backup

Although not recommended, the automatic backup process can be overridden by clicking Esc immediately the backup commences. (It's very time-sensitive though so need to be quick!)
