    Hi @Debbie Marshall

In Reckon Accounts Hosted, the quantity on hand can be adjusted within the program using the "Inventory Adjustment" transaction.

The items would first need to exist in the data file before it can be adjusted.

It would also be good to know whether this import of items with stock quantity on hand is a one-off import or meant to be for an ongoing situation.

Are you attempting to integrate another software platform with Reckon Accounts Hosted?

Where is the information relating to the item and its quantity on hand coming from and what format is it in?

Are these items already present in the company data file and you are wanting to adjust the existing quantity?

Are these items totally new and not yet present in the company data file so you want them to be brought in along with the quantity on hand?

Thanks for the reply - my client is merging 2 companies both running Reckon Accounts Hosted.

They are wanting to export the item list from one database and import it into another.

The import file will obviously be an .IIF file with stock on hand quantities in the relevant field.

Is there any way we can assist them with this?

The stock on hand quantities in an EXPORTED IIF file are there as 'read-only' values.

They will not be actioned by the import process into the second data file and hence do not update the quantity on hand values, even though those items get imported.

Are the items in the IIF from the source company file, totally unique and do not have any corresponding identically named items in the destination company file?

How many items are there that are in total in the IIF, how many are unique and how many already exist in the destination file?

Does that IIF file only contain the active inventory items or is it just a straight Item List IIF export from the source file that contains all of the items (active/inactive)?

It would require an inventory adjustment transaction to be created.

    Hello Tanvi,

IIF file which is like 40 years old , we found many times not fully reliable. Finished doing work for Perth client ,

They imported in this case over 900 items to new file about 30% of items did not get imported at all .Cross checking must be done , and if done manually thats times taking and laborious . Scripts codes needs to be written to overcome manual process.

My client was hoping to avoid having to do a manual inventory adjustment in order to update stock quantities - is it possible to automate this ?
