I can't amend a journal entry

I am trying to amend a journal entry, but it won't let me click on it.
I have searched the journals and found the one I need to change. Normally I can double click on it and it takes me into the journal to be able to amend it, but it won't let me do it.
The journal before it can be clicked on and amended, but this one can't.
I know I can just do an adjusting journal, but I don't want to do a second journal, I just want to change the original.
Is this somehow locked? Is there any other way around it? It's not in a closed period either, so that definitely isn't the problem.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Are you able to delete it and then redo? Ctrl D when itโs on the screen

Dear @Retreev ,
Is this journal linked to a reconciled transaction?
If so, you may need to undo the reconciliation first before you can modify it.
You can do this by going into Banking โ Reconcile โ Undo last reconciliation.

I wouldnโt undo a reconciliation in any situation, and if it was an issue it would simply give you a warning first. What exactly happens, does it allow you to display the journal on screen?

It's not a banking transaction, just an overhead allocation journal, so nothing too exciting!
Below is a screenshot of the journal from the Journal report, but normally I can double click the mouse on any of these amounts and it takes me into the journal entry. It's just not working for this journal - the only one I need to change! Murphy's law!

Dear @Retreev ,
Can you take a screenshot of the full description of the journal?
If it's a "Condensed Journal" from a "Clean Up Company Data" attempt, this may be why it can't be deleted.

Thanks @Alexis McKeown, I have done another screenshot with the full detail, but I am pretty certain it's not a condensed journal from clean up company data - unless you can accidently tick something to do that within the journal entry?
I have just opened the 'make a journal entry' and noticed the list of journals at the bottom of the page and strangely the details are blank for this transaction. But it is definitely showing in the P&L report.

if you do a Find for one of those amounts or the transaction number are you able to double click on it from the Find window

@Retreev It's sounds like the journal is corrupted. I'd recommend rebuilding your company file 3 times (for some reason, THREE rebuilds can fix a lot of issues!)
File > Utilities > Rebuild Data

Dear @Retreev ,
Looking over these journal descriptions, it does not seem likely that they are from a Clean Up Company Data operation.
As the others have suggested, running a rebuild may be a good fix for this situation. It's very unusual behaviour for a journal - is there any transactions linked to this particular journal otherwise?

Thank you everyone for your help. I was able to find it using the find function and I could access the journal that way! Few! I didn't even know the find function existed!
It might be worth doing a rebuild as well - although I'm not sure how to go about that. I will look it up.
Thanks again for all of your help, I really appreciate it.
Kind regards

thatโs good to hear, I use the Find function all the time. If you go to File, Utilities, rebuild data.

Dear @Retreev ,
To perform a rebuild, you can do the following:
- Go to File.
- Go to Utilities.
- Select Rebuild Data.
Otherwise, I'm glad to hear that all's resolved now.
