Upgrade install of 2024 version

Options

Home and Business 2024 will not install. I get a "could not create" the temp directory error message. I have uninstalled the 2022 version and have also tried creating the required directory. I am an administrator of the laptop but got a message to approve my creating the directory as administrator which I did. Please help.

    Dear @Ian_10863852 ,

You may need to perform a Clean Uninstall and Reinstall of Reckon Accounts Personal 2022 before installing Reckon Accounts v31.

To do so, you can review our guide here:

Thanks Alexis, I've done that and still the same message. Again I created a directory after the first try with that name but no difference. I wonder if it's something in the windows setting - when I create the directory it wants me as administrator to tick a box - maybe that's always the case? Windows says I am the administrator.

    Dear @Ian_10863852 ,

Yes - you will need to ensure your antivirus/firewall is disabled and run the installer as Administrator.

From there, you should be safe to install the product.

Also ensure that the Temp folder does not already contain the Reckon_Accounts_Personal_v31_R1 folder/files - if it does, it's likely it cannot unzip to that location.

    Kind regards,

Thanks again Alexis, I've got it going by downloading Winzip and running it through that.
