Reckon user unable to login on his computer without someone else logging in on another pc

Very weird error. He's the snapshot of the error code:

I got him to test logging in to another desktop. He logs in there with no issues. Strangely, if anyone logs into Reckon on another computer, THEN he can login to Reckon on his computer (doesn't matter which one).

They're using Reckon Accounts 2024 R1, multi-user environment.

Is the only fix to reinstall Reckon at this point?

    Hi @MarcTechnado,

    Are you hosting this company file on a Windows server? It might be an issue with the permissions of the network connecting to the file due to the port not being active. It could be a number of permissions in the machine that could be causing this.

    However, I would suggest doing a clean reinstall of Reckon Accounts and see if that works first before changing permissions in your network environment:

    Performing a clean un-install and re-install of Reckon Accounts Business - Reckon Help and Support Centre

    Thank you and speak soon.

    Dear @MarcTechnado ,

    Typically, an Error -6010, 0 occurs when the Language Resource file (or DBLGen9.DLL) is damaged, missing, or corrupted - normally, this occurs if the antivirus or firewall was improperly configured during Reckon Accounts' installation, or was not reconfigured after a Windows Security update.

    In order to fix this, you will need to uninstall and reinstall Reckon Accounts Desktop - you can read up on how to do so here: https://help.reckon.com/article/20zsrgut0l

    As this will require you to modify the registry, we'd suggest talking with your IT to implement the uninstall of Reckon Accounts.

    @Alexis McKeown

    So you can't just remove the offending DBLGen9.dll and re-register the same dll from a known good working machine?

    Dear @MarcTechnado ,

    Unfortunately not - the DBLGen9.dll resource file is unique per machine, generated by the installation process. It manages and handles all key inputs on the machine into Reckon Accounts itself per the configuration of the machine, dependent on a variety of factors.

    Some antivirus software can disable/delete this file due to how it reads/writes this data to disk, and as such, if there's an issue, a reinstall is needed to generate a new file.

    Kind regards,
