Having issues with long service leave accrual's

I have looked at long service leave liabilities report which shows employees that have been working for only 2 years are owed $18000 in lsl

I’m assuming that the long service leave has been set up incorrectly

Any suggestions on how to fix it

LSL should be setup at the rate of .0166 per hour. This equals 8.6667 weeks. If I am doing this when it’s to be paid out I use the ATO calculator for LSL and compare with Reckon

if I go in and change the accrual rate would that automatically fix the issues

As some employees have 13000 hours of hour available of lsl

No, you will have to manually calculate their entitlement and override the figures in their LSL tab.

Again you could use the ATO calculator and then convert to hours, and you can do a report of normal hours worked from the beginning and multiply by the per hour rate to check, or you can do it by year if they are always regular.

ok so looking at the liabilities report doesn’t matter in regards to lsl hours

I have to manually input the hour myself

the figure that I have for accruing is different to what u mentioned above should I be changing it to what you mentioned 0. 166

should be .0166

.0166 X 38 x 52 x 10 =328.016 hrs = 8.6 weeks

Once you change it the liability report should reflect that - but I can’t guarantee it, leave reports are often a bit hard to get correct

yes this is something I have thought of in the past, and this is where calculating by the hour comes into its own. When you use the ATO calculator the assumption is they are full time and have always been so.

If you choose the detailed payroll report it will give you the total number of normal hours worked, and you can use this to calculate by multiplying by .0166
