Id like to see a profit and loss report being able to be generated that can be broken down into monthly columns to show in one report.
As I was able to do in Reckon desktop, a report of P&L for a fin.year showing each month's figures in separate columns with the grand total at the end. It would sure beat having to do separate P&L's for each month, and then manually entering it all into a spreadsheet.
Hi folks
I've merged these two ideas together but more importantly, I'm excited to let you know this idea is currently in development đ
We're working on 3 brand new Profit & Loss reports with one of them being a Profit and Loss by Period report which should do exactly what you're looking for in terms of a monthly breakdown.
Stay tuned its not too far away from release and I'll come back to you with another update as we get closer đ
Hi everyone
A brand new Profit & Loss by Period report is now available in Reckon One's latest update, info HERE.
This new P&L report will allow you to see your income, expenses and net position for a particular period (including monthly!) compared to other periods, so you can understand how your net position has changed over time.
For example, imagine you're at the end of December, and you want to look at your income and expenses for the month of December over the last 4 years. In this case, you would select a Reporting period of This month, a Compare with period of Previous year, and Number of comparisons of 4. The first column of your report will display data for this month, December (your Reporting period), and your comparison columns will show data for the same month (December) for the previous year, and for each of the 3 years prior (that is, it will show data for December last year, 2 years ago, 3 years ago, and 4 years ago).
While you can use your standard Profit and Loss report in Reckon One to compare against one other period, this report allows you to compare report data with up to 12 additional time periods.
@Rav
As far a I can work out, this report still won't do monthly P&Ls for the current year. In Reckon Desktop, the P&L was able to be modified to show monthly across the page and then save for future use, and similarly, show monthly with same month of previous year, across the page and save for future use.
The report in Reckon One, doesn't seem to do this. Awaiting some advice.
Hi @Jean_10862158
Are you looking at the existing Profit & Loss report or the new Profit & Loss by Period report?
The Profit & Loss by Period report allows you to specify the reporting period so you can choose from various time periods and comparison periods.
After you've set it up for what you need you can then save it as a custom report so it can be called up for use in future
Hi @Rav Yes it was the P&L by period. It just isn't the periods that I can use. Would you try and do a P&L showing every month in a separate column in this financial year and see what you get?
If I just do a simple one, this month, compare with previous month, no. of comparisons 3, it only gives me figures for this month only, it shows columns for Feb. and Jan. with zeros and last year column also zero. But that is not what I wanted, I want to be able to have every month in a financial year in columns going left to right with totals, not necessarily with a comparison period.
I don't seem to be able to get rid of the comparison period for this report.
If I change the reporting period to this financial year, I have to pick a comparison period unfortunately, and with 9 comparisons, the report is in columns but they are not monthly columns.
If I do it with the period this month, comparison previous month, and 1 reporting period, the are zero balances for the previous month.
Has anyone tested this?
